After making their debut last week on the road, KSU’s new black matte helmets were showcased at home, while the Owls went with the Gold on Gold jersey look for the first time.
Junior QB Jantzen Jeffrey (13), senior RB Chaston Bennett (14) and redshirt freshman Desmond Johnson (59) were selected as this week’s game captains.
The Owls welcomed Clark Atlanta in their final non-conference tilt of the year on a picture-perfect Saturday in the South!
The Owls had their way on both sides of the ball, outgaining Clark Atlanta 543-246 including an impressive 463-103 edge on the ground.
Chaston Bennett racked up school records in rushing yards (179) and all-purpose yards (267) to lead the offensive dominance.
For the first time in program history, the Owls’ shutout an opponent as the defense allowed just 103 rushing yards and a total of 246 yards for the game — an average of just 4.0 yards per play.
With Kennesaw State‘s 56-0 victory over Clark Atlanta, the Owls have now totaled their most victories in a single season.
The Owls welcome Big South foe Presbyterian to Fifth Third Bank Stadium next week, which marks the final home game of the 2016 season.
Kennesaw State’s 12 seniors will be honored before the game.
