KSU FEELING "GOLD" AFTER LATEST HEROICS

New Look in the nest...

For the first time in KSU history, the interlocking KS was painted at midfield at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

All smiles being back home...

The Owls returned home for the first time since September 9, and only their second home game throughout the first five weeks of the season.

"gold out"...

The Department of Athletics provided 2,000 gold Adidas shirts to students and 1,000 t-shirts to fans that entered the game on Saturday.

#GoldRush...

The Owls wore their Gold Rush jersey for Saturday's game, which features gold helmet, gold jersey and gold pants.

burks' heroics...

Junior QB Chandler Burks scored the Owls' go-ahead touchdown with a one-yard rush with 16 seconds remaining in the game. It was the program's first lead-changing touchdown to be scored in the final minute.

Burks finished the game with 211 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns, including 100 yards on the ground and completing 5-of-10 passes for 111 more in the air.

rushing attack...

The Owls out-rushed the Crusaders by an impressive 315-47 margin, including a 195-37 edge in the first half.

Chivers at it again...

Junior RB Trey Chivers has scored a touchdown in three consecutive games – rushing scores versus Tennessee Tech and Alabama State and a 26-yard reception Saturday. It marked his first career receiving TD.

roman "keyed" in...

Senior DB Keon Roman had a pair of interceptions in the game – his second consecutive game with two interceptions. As a team, Kennesaw State has nine interceptions this season, and entered the weekend as the national leader in interceptions.

art eckman honored...

Art Eckman -- an icon among Atlanta sports broadcasters -- who retired after two years handling the radio sideline reporting for the Owls was recognized Saturday in the first quarter.

Eckman's career in broadcasting spanned three decades, and included stints at ESPN, the NBA, NFL, MLB, and locally at WXIA-TV. He had also served KSU Athletics in multiple public relations roles.
